Practice Alert: Hearings responsibility for longterm care and healthcare facilities changes

Effective July 1, 2009, the Georgia Department of Community Health took over the licensing and regulation of all long term care and healthcare facilities and formed the new Healthcare Facility Regulation Division in the Department of Community Health. DHR, now DHS, will not be processing the hearing requests for nursing home/personal care home discharges. Those hearing requests will now go through DCH. The hearing requests should be mailed or faxed to:
